But he also added FROSTY, THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS, THE HOUSE WITHOUT A CHRISTMAS TREE, and THE HOMECOMING: A CHRISTMAS STORY. The latter evolved into the THE WALTONS TV series (though it starred Patricia Neal as Olivia Walton). Also, thanks for the info on the boxed set, Paul (another good Christmas gift idea).Rick29https://www.blogger.com/profile/08358116647815569722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-61176260575303721702009-12-04T01:19:47.004-05:002009-12-04T01:19:47.004-05:00Every one you might like to know that 7 of the Bes...Every one you might like to know that 7 of the Best "Christmas Classics are in a box set. it has Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, Frosty Returns, Santa Claus ie Coming to Town, The Little Drummert Boy, Mr Magoos Christmas Carol &
Cricket on The Hearth. My favorite moments on TV ...This is a fun question! My favorite moments on TV specials have to include: "She thinks I'm cuuuuuute!" said by a sweet young red nosed reindeer about Clarice.
Linus reading the Scripture about our Lord's birth touches my heart each time I see A Charlie Brown Christmas.
That poor little dog Max being forced to assist a very wicked Grinch always tugs my heart strings in the animated special.
And each of the Christmas Carol versions has moments of excellence, whether it's Mickey, Magoo, or Muppets.
Still, there is another Rankin/Bass special called "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" that I also really enjoy. It is based on the book of the same name by Oz creator L. Frank Baum. I haven't seen it in way too long and plan to watch it later today from my taped from TV videocassette.toto2https://www.blogger.com/profile/09652682900471649463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-16566199137036973532009-12-03T08:13:15.334-05:002009-12-03T08:13:15.334-05:00I love the Disney's Mickey's Christmas Car...I love the Disney's Mickey's Christmas Carol(1983).Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03476174860119487509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-58956175286782225502009-12-03T01:45:15.038-05:002009-12-03T01:45:15.038-05:00A Charlie Brown Christmas!A Charlie Brown Christmas!bmadronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05617559112045279288noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-10335419534419482322009-12-03T00:53:22.971-05:002009-12-03T00:53:22.971-05:00That is so difficult! I love Mr. Magoo's -- it is so darn sweet and has lovely little musical numbers. I think it's really good. And Charlie Brown, well, that end where Linus tells the Christmas story is just beautiful. Those are my definite favorites. And of course, the Grinch with Boris Karloff. Love everything by Suess, especially this one. So see, I can't decide. I love 'em all!ClassicBeckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591715859057540467noreply@blogger.com
