It made me feel kind of special because everytime I buy older movies from that place the cashiers always give me a blank stare when they ring it up. Such a wonderful movie with great chemistry between the leads and an awesome supporting cast.Kaylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03933226031230319298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-77973897505753380612010-02-22T15:41:06.395-05:002010-02-22T15:41:06.395-05:00Toto, Thank you and it was a pleasure. And Felix is a master of underplay. Just watch him and Sig Rumann(another great)in Niontchka, or with Clark, Sig and Heddy in Comrade X. And Yes I'm on a mission to get all the cafe patrons to see Comrade X at least once.Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-88641232353225331252010-02-22T15:32:06.123-05:002010-02-22T15:32:06.123-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-63574423497251359452010-02-22T13:21:36.536-05:002010-02-22T13:21:36.536-05:00Paul, I really appreciated you posting the film cl...Paul, I really appreciated you posting the film clips. I am delighted to be reminded of the work of Felix Bressart. He was a great choice for Underrated Performer of the Week. Ninotchka, and The Seventh Cross. Just watching Felix with Spencer in that film is a master class in what acting is all about. I hope people that have not seen is films will now want to check them out. What a major treat they have in store for themPaul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-20099110403423976032010-02-21T22:21:04.142-05:002010-02-21T22:21:04.142-05:00Good pick, Paul. Since "Shop" is one of my favorites, I guess it's my favorite of his (though there isn't a film I've seen of his that he didn't stand out). Thanks for a great piece. The Lady Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11963115499930520653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-50276515069550538872010-02-21T10:01:13.861-05:002010-02-21T10:01:13.861-05:00Rick , Kim, and Dawn Glad you all enjoyed the clip...Rick , Kim, and Dawn Glad you all enjoyed the clips. I really wanted to find the 'Hath Jews no Eyes " from To Be Or Not to Be , but no luck. Rick , Kim & Dawn Comrade X is my favorite King Vidor film (and that's saying something) Felix is the glue that holds the film together. His "takes"are priceless, and King gives him many of the best lines, Including the classic last line just before the fade out.Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-15242553933051594732010-02-21T07:09:54.499-05:002010-02-21T07:09:54.499-05:00Paul, loved the clips. I remember him best from THE SHOP AROUND CORNER. But as I read your entertaining post, I also remembered him from TO BE OR NOT TO BE and A SONG IS BORN. The clips were a lot of fun, too.Rick29https://www.blogger.com/profile/08358116647815569722noreply@blogger.com
