This is what I remember:
- during WWII;
- a man helps a lady get out of occupied Europe? or Germany;
- he puts her in a very large suitcase;
- she was going to wear a bathing suit but at the last minute, she changed to a light housecoat;
- they are at a train station with armed guards (the Gestapo?) and it is very, very cold;
- the train is late and she is in the suitcase for a long time;
- when asked, he said the suitcase(s)(he may have had two) contained very heavy books;
- they didn't get caught; they did make it onto the train.
I've just spent many hours going through names of old movies and can't find it. Just never knew his name!

It HAS been a long time since I saw Meteor -- thought that was it...(she could have been an ADOPTED Russian child)..ClassicBeckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591715859057540467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-87754330415104142342011-06-07T14:09:02.082-04:002011-06-07T14:09:02.082-04:00Recap: still need to answer #s 1, 2, part of 3 (2 ...Recap: still need to answer #s 1, 2, part of 3 (2 films left), 4 and 6.Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-8840376057596266862011-06-07T14:07:08.703-04:002011-06-07T14:07:08.703-04:00Oops, sorry Becks, didn't address your answers...Oops, sorry Becks, didn't address your answers to #3. Yes, you're right on both counts, and I have to confess I forgot about The Devil At 4:00, so there are obviously more than four....at least five!Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-19242527510102726102011-06-07T13:59:44.507-04:002011-06-07T13:59:44.507-04:00DKoren, you're absolutely right about those tw...DKoren, you're absolutely right about those two! Good job...and keep thinking!

Becks, as to Lyle Bettger, you'd know him if you saw him! He was a well-known villain in lots of Westerns, as well other types of movies.

As for the bizarre death threat, have you ever seen The Greatest Show on Earth? He threatened Gloria Grahame with an elephant's foot in the face!!

Now that's something you don't see every day, LOL!

And yes, you're right about the Flynn-Parker picture being Escape Me Never, but it's #5 not 6...I think you were too focused on Mr. Flynn in electric blue!

JoAnn told me you would LOVE that picture!

And sorry, Meteor is not it....Wood and Malden did both appear in that film, but he wasn't her father. He was a NASA engineer and she was a Russian.

But don't give up!Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-11563302498236199512011-06-07T11:53:22.337-04:002011-06-07T11:53:22.337-04:00Duh, #6 is Escape Me Never. I think her lover was Sean Connery, but she ended up going with Brian Keith at the end. It's been a long time, so I may have them mixed up.ClassicBeckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591715859057540467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-87024542164346972552011-06-07T11:37:59.136-04:002011-06-07T11:37:59.136-04:00Awww, Rick beat me -- but I'm a good loser, Ri...Awww, Rick beat me -- but I'm a good loser, Rick. Congrats! I know that line so well!

Who the h---heck is Lyle Bettger? Was anybody really suppposed to know that? Now I have to look him up, because you didn't say which film or what the bizarre death threat was! That's the main thing I wanted to find out!
Poor Charlton-- he really "died a thousand deaths"!!

3. I know Sinatra died in From Here to Eternity and The Devil at 4:00 (one of my faves).
