My Fellow Americans was brilliant. One correction, though: while you were wise to use the Wikipedia article about the series that I wrote (under various Wiki-guises) for research, you should correct the spelling of Garner's character's name from "Brett" to "Bret." (I guess Huggins was a Bret Harte fan.)Michael Powersnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-16859812951620619322009-09-17T17:12:10.949-04:002009-09-17T17:12:10.949-04:00Thank Goodness we can still see this series every ...Thank Goodness we can still see this series every weekday on the Encore Western Cable Channel I loved this show as a child and love it more now.Paul 2https://www.blogger.com/profile/11500682719536011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-3431252540846081292009-09-17T15:57:48.660-04:002009-09-17T15:57:48.660-04:00Saz, I saw the "Gun Shy" episode a coupl...Saz, I saw the "Gun Shy" episode a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. But it's hard to replicate a unique series like MAVERICK, though the networks certainly tried. There was the 1978 TV-movie THE NEW MAVERICK, a short-lived TV series called YOUNG MAVERICK, and the 1981 revival BRET MAVERICK with Garner back in his famous role. But none of them clicked. Garner was the best part of the big screen adaptation of the series with Mel Gibson.Rick29https://www.blogger.com/profile/08358116647815569722noreply@blogger.com
