I have not seen the movie for many, many years, so my dim recollections of it don't do justice to the detailed nuances of your review. I am going to watch it again (Netflix, here I come) and will comment further after my dim memories are refreshed.Noireehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11465062741888837392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-10559664676014908952009-10-01T05:02:04.275-04:002009-10-01T05:02:04.275-04:00becky,

If there were a "brilliant" option that's what I would've checked for this post. The Lady Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11963115499930520653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-62745440055231676272009-09-28T09:43:27.213-04:002009-09-28T09:43:27.213-04:00Even though Gregory Peck looked like Lincoln. i th...Even though Gregory Peck looked like Lincoln. i thought he was wonderful as Ahab.Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03476174860119487509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5344878851139332715.post-78554912286326668342009-09-27T22:14:34.970-04:002009-09-27T22:14:34.970-04:00Becky, it's Richard Basehart's performance...Becky, it's Richard Basehart's performance that grounds the movie for me. He was an underrated performer (hmm...future idea there) and was adept at playing Everymen. By the way, there was an episode of the TV series VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA--starring Basehart--called "The Ghost of Moby Dick," which was a contemporary retelling. So one could say that Richard acted in two different versions.Rick29https://www.blogger.com/profile/08358116647815569722noreply@blogger.com
