Just as we do with classic films, the Classic Film & TV Café publishes its Top 25 Classic TV Power Rankings on an occasional basis. The selected TV series are determined by classic film fans who follow our Twitter account. The first power rankings were determined using a point system, but we changed our methodology in 2024. Fans are now invited to submit up to ten classic TV shows (originally broadcast before 1990). The Café staff consolidates the results and publishes the rankings.
There is no set criteria. Fans use whatever criteria they want—greatest TV series, favorite show, etc. These are “power” rankings so they simply reflect a TV series' impact among classic TV fans.
