Classic TV Themes Quiz #2 (American edition!)

We received such positive feedback about last month's Classic British TV Themes Quiz that we're back with a second edition. This time, though, the themes are from American television shows of the 1960s and 1970s. That should make this quiz a little easier!

As before, we'll play a snippet of an opening or closing theme and ask you to to name the show. There are ten themes, so it won't take long to play.

Just click on the video below to get started. Please leave a comment to let us know how you did--but don't list the answers. Good luck!

    1. That's not bad! Plus, you've now set a goal for others!

  2. Fun! I fared better here than on the British one, but as I'm a fan of Jerry Goldsmith, that kinda helped (#4 is one of my favorite themes ever). Even still, I only got 3 right, and one of those was because of the clue, not the actual music. LOL. Thanks for creating this!!

    1. Love the theme to No. 4, too! Currently watching the series on DVD.

  3. I got 8 out of 10 -- the 70s shows, I'm not great at - both that I missed were 70s shows - I was long out of college by then and working at break-neck speed for a record company by the 70s. Little time for TV then and found most of what was on, pretty bad.

    1. The late 1970s are a bit of a gap in my movie-watching experiences...college life got in the way.

  4. I did not get #4, #5, #9 or #10. I got #8 on the clue about critically acclaimed, not because I knew the theme.

  5. What fun! I got 7 of the 10, finding numbers 9 and 10 to be the most difficult.

    1. Great job, Toto! I doubt if a lot of people will know #9. I remembered it from a Percy Faith album of TV themes which my sister owned.

  7. I only got 2 because they were the only shows on the list I've ever seen. Wasn't a big TV watcher in the 60's 70's or 8o's

  8. I only got #7 lol. Can you tell I'm in my 20s? ;)

  9. Only three right. This was hard. If you had the theme from Ironside, I would have known that one.
